What should we wear?
This depends largely on the time of year you are visiting. We definitely advise that you wear comfortable walking shoes and always bring a warm jacket. During our winter months (June, July and August) wet weather clothing and a rain jacket is advised.
Do you supply raincoats?
Yes. We have a selected range of sizes if you forget to bring one.
Do you supply torches?
Yes. We can supply torches for those who would like to carry one on tour.
Do you supply strollers?
Yes. We do have a limited stock, please request during booking if you should need one.
Do you supply car or booster seats?
Yes. We do have a selection of sizes, please request during booking should you need one.
Where do you depart from?
Main office in CBD, 1144 Hinemoa Street, Rotorua.
Do you pick up from other accommodation within the area for the Twilight Encounter tour?
Yes. For October 1st to 1st April tours, the pick time is from 5.30pm and from April 2nd to 30th September the pick time is from 4.30pm. This is a free pick up service, however you must request pick up during BOOKING process.
Is the Twilight Encounter tour suitable for infants?
Yes. This tour is family friendly however the duration of the tour goes for 3 hours.
Do you get to see Kiwi?
No. Kiwi are not usually found in this area of the forest where our journey will take place.
Do you still go out if it's raining?
Yes we do. The only time we would cancel a tour would be if it was extremely windy and extreme weather warnings.
Is there a meal included in the tour price?
No there is not.
Can we eat during the tour?
We enjoy regular short breaks so if you wish to bring snacks that is fine. We will also participate in the sampling of our traditional Kawakawa Tea. Please remember, you will need to take the remaining rubbish out with you.
Will there be somewhere to purchase food?
Yes. Main office will have vending machines for snacks and beverages. Families may want to bring baby snacks if children are younger.
How can we pay?
Online bookings are preferred method, but we do accept Cash, EFTPOS or Visa and Master Card credit cards.

Rongoā Journeys main office, 1144 Hinemoa Street, Rotorua.
How far is Taupo, Tauranga or Matata from Rotorua?
Approximate 1 hour drive.
Do you pick up from Taupo, Tauranga or Matata?
No we don't. iSITE center's in these area's can help with arrange transport or transfers.
